Why would they need to pick up Fields 5th year option for this? Fields is under contract next year regardless. Hes in his 3rd season.
You have to decide in the off season I believe.
Either fields is gone after this season or you pick up the option. There’s no sense in letting him be your starting QB in a contract year where if he pans out you have to try to sign him.
