Hey all. My Graber shades stopped working with Alexa a few days back. I’ve since been in touch with the company, and they’ve confirmed their Alexa integration is (once again) broken for all owners.
Many users will be trying to fix their shades by e.g. resetting the connection with Alexa, resetting the app, etc . The company knows beyond doubt that they are (at best) wasting their time doing this, or (at worst) breaking their integration such that it won’t work even when the integration is fixed.
Nonetheless, they refuse to communicate the issue to owners, either by email or social media.
Take a look at their Alexa Skill reviews (screenshotted below) if in any doubt of how well the integration works. If you want reliable shades from a reputable company that respects its users, I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere.
Sounds like it’s time to switch to home assistant! Keep local control over your own equipment at your own house.
Once again, cloud based automation is for suckers.
that’s really frustrating to hear. It’s disappointing when companies don’t communicate issues like this to their customers. Thanks for the heads up, I’ll definitely be looking into other options for smart shades.
