Just as the title says,

Do yall think Apple will ever bring themed icons to match the colors in your wallpaper like Android does? I have a very unpopular opinion, but I find specially the vanilla Android experience (found on Google Pixel devices) absolutely stunning to look at with the matching color icons. This is a huge pet peeve of mine that Apple doesn’t do this yet.

Do you think they’ll ever bring that to iPhone without needing to jailbreak or downloading one of those dumb theme apps?

Doubtful. I watched a video on expectations for ios18 which is gonna be the first major redesign in many years and even they are expecting the icons to not be radically different. They’re basing their guesses off of what was shown in Apple Vision Pro demos so obviously it’s not guaranteed but at most I’d expect we may get circular icons instead of squares or squircles.

There are some apps that do that, on an app-by-app basis, so I wouldn’t say it’s impossible for the future, but maybe apple will be more app-sovereign and keep it how it is now 🤷🏻‍♂️

I hope so. It would be nice if they re-released the old classic style icons so i don’t need to set them up with shortcuts as a workaround.

I want my apps to look like the apps I’m using. I got over switching my icons about a week after Android had it as an option. It got boring quick trying to figure out what was what and half your icons not matching.

Doubtful. It might look pretty if you’re into that sort of thing but it ruins app legibility and identity.

It’s one of the things I missed from switching. It would be nice to have it as a setting on iOS since I don’t want to mess with shortcuts

Between this and putting icons wherever you want on the home screen—if they haven’t allowed it by now they’re never going to.
