Relying on magical technology that doesn’t exist yet and even goes against physics to undo the damage we continue to do, that sounds really rational.

So second prize for me would be to start stratospheric aerosol injection with additives to planes or whatever to at least cool the earth similarly to volcanic eruptions that block radiant sun heat.
The second option is an inevitable one as we grasp for ways to cope with the increase. It will work to an extent, but the warming will continue. Resources will be used up in trying to maintain this shield, and when we fail to do that, the bounce in heating will be catastrophic.
