I am a Data Science Student and looking to change my system, macbook pro m3 is currently at $1449 at best buy. Previously I was planning to buy m2 15”(16gigs,512) but the price are same. So, for the same price if I am getting new m3 chip, is it better to buy m3? Is 8gigs enough? Or should I spend more and buy 18gigs m3 pro? Is 8gigs enough for data science related programs? Help me out

My suggestion would be to not get 8GB unified memory model for data science (assuming you will be loading larger amount of data as you work through your degree).

While I do think 8GB is OK for daily computing needs, you will run into limitations working with large amounts of data.
