So I’ve been looking at the M series MacBooks alongisde of minimal gaming laptops for college, and every single time Apple releases a new chip, there seems to be some minor improvement in how well you can game on macOS. However, this year brought a sizeable GPU uplift from previous years with features such as ray-tracing.

Because of this (and that beautiful Space Black color), I’m here to ask: Is gaming on M series Macs actually becoming viable or getting to a point where in six months, we might see proper optimization?

The technology is there at least. If Apple does stick to it and push gaming we could be looking pretty good down the road.

If you’re looking for a gaming laptop today though, the M3 MBP should not be on your list of candidates
