Hey! I recently bought the iPhone 15pro and when I use the „focus“ in the camera App by tapping with my finger on the screen a „f“ appears in the corner. I can activate it, but I can’t find out what for. It looks like the sign for „camera aperture“ (I don’t know if this is the right word, it’s „Blende“ in German). What does it do? I didn’t find anything on the apple help pages.
focal
F
Click it and you’ll know
It means Apple is paying respect to you
On the 15 series, you can capture photos with depth data in non-portrait mode. The icon turns yellow to indicate depth capture during regular photos when either a person, dog, or cat is detected, or when you tap to focus on a subject, prompting the camera to use portrait mode for depth.
It’s the Fanta button
it will solve algebra equations such as f(x)=3(0.54)^x
Think of it as the control of background blur (bokeh). The smaller the number, the higher the blur. Play around with it to see the effect. Personally I like higher f-stops (less blur)–it looks more natural.

faperture
do you know where this is? It looks amazing
Sure. It’s in Hurghada. Egypt.
As people said… aperture. F stop. Lower number = more blur (portrait) Higher number = less blur (landscape)
