Bill Belichick has 300 career wins, good for 3rd of all time behind only George Halas (318) and Don Shula (328).

He has six Super Bowl rings - clearly more than any other coach in the SB era, but also tied with Halas and Lambeau for 2nd-most total Championships, behind only Paul Brown (7).

He has 9 Conference Championships, most ever by a wide margin.

He is 0.705 in the playoffs, 2nd-most of any active HC (Zac Taylor leads at 0.714).

He is tied with Shula for most total playoff appearances at 19 (Andy Reid will join them this year as the Pats will not be in this years playoffs and the Chiefs will)

He has coached 44 playoff games, six more than the 2nd-best (Andy Reid).

He has 31 playoff wins, 9 more than the 2nd-best (still Andy Reid).

It’s perfectly fine to be frustrated with the path that the Patriots are on. But talk of firing Bill Belichick? That’s like firing John Wooden or Nick Saban or Fielding Yost after 2 or 3 bad seasons. Not only is it disrespectful to them and everything they have done, but it’s disrespectful to the entire history of the sport.

Get real.

Belichick will probably coach until he hits 329 wins for most ever.

Is this Matt Patricia’s burner account?

Giving us real ‘sit up straight and respect the process’ vibes.

Frankly, everyone associated with the Pats can burn in explosive hellfire for the atrocities to football he committed while coach us, and then coordinating their offense afterwards.

Excuse me for not giving a fuck about the “history of American Football.” Lol.

Bruce Bochy won 3 rings with the giants, the team went into a rut and fires Bochy, goes to Texas and wins another one. Would be cool to see if Bill can get one with another team and QB.

Move on too fast for most things.

Just not winning icons. I know this crosses sports, but Kobe Magic & West means something, Russell & Bird mean something, (same with Dirk & Duncan) I root for winning icons sticking with their franchise. If I owned a team, I’d deal with a few more losses for the lore.

We remember Randy Moss and Terrell Owens as great players, but we remember Larry Fitzgerald as being greatness to the Cardinals. While the top two were better talents, who meant more to the city?

Being so close, it would be special for him to ride out as a Patriot.

That doesn’t guarantee he’s still good.

The problem is the talent more than him, but the NFL wants to know if you’ll help them win next week/year, not what you won previously.

This is a bad take. Yes, he’s a HoF coach and arguably one of the goats. Admittedly I’ve paid 0 attention to the Pats this year but who knows, maybe it’s time for a change of scenery. Whatever is going on over there isn’t working, and bringing in the first new fresh set of eyes in 23 years probably sounds pretty enticing to ownership and fans alike.

Plus I would argue, treating him in exactly the same fashion Bill Belichick has treated players his entire career actually honors him the most.

Why handle the most ruthless executive of the past twenty years with kid’s gloves? He didn’t even make an exception for Tom Brady (to his own detriment as it turned out).

They shouldn’t make an exception for him either.

Can you make a stat line for his career without Tom Brady? Just for reference.
