A few weeks ago, you saw people saying he was a generational talent, that they would pick him (as a prospect coming out of college) over Andrew Luck, Peyton Manning, John Elway, comparing his game to Patrick Mahomes. He has lost a few games this year but Jesus, his defense gives up 33 PPG, 420 yards of offense per game and they let people score 94% of the time in the redzone.
He has 119 total touchdowns over 3 years with only 13 ints. This year he is completing almost 70% of his passes. Are you guys genuinely concerned about his ability to play at the next level or is it just nit picking at this point?
Everyone told us he was a generational QB then we watched big games and he didn’t look like one. So it’s hard for us to buy in.
Yeah, just tired of the perpetual hype >burnout cycle. He has a faster throwing motion than Fields and seems to process faster (tho PAC 12 defenses are not great even by collegiate standards), but he shows a lot of the same red flags in terms of holding the ball forever. I don’t care if we draft him and maybe I’m just jaded, but I’d rather build a solid everything else and see what happens
Utah has a great defense and he didn’t look that good against them.
He hasn’t looked that good against any great defense. That’s to be expected sometimes though.

Right, I think the biggest issue is that going into the season we were told “generational talent” and “can’t miss #1 pick” and then through watching the season he has just as many red flags as most 1st round QBs.
