I did a post like this last week and it seemed to get some success, but I think it would be better to do it on Monday mornings instead of on Tuesdays. What do you think?

Now to regular programming. This post is supposed to give an idea or a quick rundown of what’s going on around the league based on the games from yesterday. What have you noticed as a fan of your team that other fans really haven’t? Who secretly played well (or not) and what are your thoughts around the league?

Here are some of mine:

CJ Stroud might be the best rookie qb ever.

Dobbs is fitting in very well in Minnesota and will lead the vikings to a wild card appearance.

Bengals are a good team, but not good enough in a stacked division to make the playoffs.

The Raiders beat two really bad teams, don’t get your hopes up about Antonio Pierce just yet.

Speaking of, the Jets are ass. Poverty ass.

How the hell did Tommy Devito score more points against the cowboys (without a run game) than Daniel Jones?

The ravens are good but most likely they will choke hard in the playoffs. I don’t want it to happen but they have a tendency to choke in big games.

Chargers gonna Charger.

It would be hilarious if the Vikings win the division after all of Detroit were already crowning themselves after week 5

I legit had a nightmare that the Lions faced the Vikings in the NFCCG and lost and I woke up so angry.

Tim Kelly’s been at the OC job for 9 games, and this offense has failed to put up at least 10 points twice this year. For reference, this is more sub-10 point games than the preceding three seasons combined. Is he even worthy of sticking around this offseason given that the redzone offense has suddenly vanished?

The Raiders have beaten some bad teams but that win over the Giants was the most convincing they’ve had in years, and the Jets are a tough match for a rookie QB on his third start. Jacobs and the Raider running game are back from the dead, and AOC may or may not be the future but he’s at least an improvement over Jimmy G at this point.

The rest of our schedule is difficult, however, and the real test for Coach Pierce will be to keep this team resilient and playing hard after taking some Ls as we go on. The defense is marginally better than last year but still fool’s gold IMO and will likely get massacred in Miami. The O-line is still thin and vulnerable to elite pass rushers, but the run blocking has been acceptable the last few weeks.

I’m not expecting playoffs by any means, but if we can look more competitive against better teams and show some sustained improvement on offense we’ll be moving in the right direction. If we can keep the streak going against Denver and beat the Chargers, I’ll be happy. Beat the Chiefs and I’ll be ecstatic.
