So I’m hopefully buying the new Pro iPhone soon, but I’m confused with the charging aspect - is getting an Apple charger necessary with USB-C?

Currently have an iPhone 13 Pro, deadass upgrading because of its battery. I think getting an Anker charger was the problem. It was that Nano 20W brick, phone gets mad hot even if it’s doing nothing but charging with it. I’d think it’s because it wasn’t an Apple Certified charger.

Is this bs real? And does the USB-C standard fix this issue as Apple has no control over the port anymore? What charger should I get?

To fast charge an iPhone 15 you need one of these power adapters:

    • Apple 20W, 29W, 30W, 35W, 61W, 67W, 87W, 96W, or 140W USB-C Power Adapter
    • A comparable third-party USB-C power adapter that supports USB Power Delivery (USB-PD).
