So I’m hopefully buying the new Pro iPhone soon, but I’m confused with the charging aspect - is getting an Apple charger necessary with USB-C?

Currently have an iPhone 13 Pro, deadass upgrading because of its battery. I think getting an Anker charger was the problem. It was that Nano 20W brick, phone gets mad hot even if it’s doing nothing but charging with it. I’d think it’s because it wasn’t an Apple Certified charger.

Is this bs real? And does the USB-C standard fix this issue as Apple has no control over the port anymore? What charger should I get?

Don’t blame it on the anker brick. Used one for 1 year with the my 14 pm and after one year my battery still was on 100%. And I still use it on my 15pm. Yeah, gets hot if u charge from a low % battery because it will use more Watts until 80% battery, but it’s an acceptable temperature.
