Without having any personal feelings about staff or players, is moving Fields for a new rookie the best move? It would be better to stack your roster with QBs.

    Fields hasn’t been a rookie for two seasons. And if the Bears draft a new QB, keeping him in no way would tenable. He’d likely be traded for a third round pick to the Raiders, Broncos, Buccaneers or Falcons, teams just good enough to not be drafting highly in the 2024 draft.

    A rookie is a first year player, not a 3rd year player. Really weird that that needs to be explained.

    You want to trade Fields because you could probably get a second round pick for him. Think about what the Jets got for Darnold. Fields is probably worth at least that.
