Bears WRs are consistently getting open, just never getting thrown to. When VJJ is benched drops are minimal, and between Kmet, Moore, and Mooney the bears have plenty of receiving threats. They need to build the trenches and unless Fields starts balling out when he comes back they need a QB. I know MHJ is a fantastic player and fun to watch, but he is not the player the bears need.

The Bears are not one draft away. They can stand to add talent to just about every position group. Just look at the best teams in the league, they have at least a half dozen first round picks on their rosters.

MHJ is the best player in the coming draft. If the Bears have the opportunity to draft him I think they should.

The modern NFL formula for winning football is elite WR and Elite pass blocking to win games and go far in the playoffs. Elite offenses> Elite defenses.

Every time I’ve seen a next gen stats analysis of separation by receivers in the last two years the Bears have been at the bottom, usually by a substantial margin. Sure, it’s possible to cherry pick a few plays from every game where Fields hasn’t gone to someone that was open and some of that is on him, but there are not guys running around open on every play or even most plays - in fact, statistically they’re open less than the receivers on most other teams are. Adding DJ Moore and Kmet’s development have helped matters but it’s still a well below average group of weapons.
