I keep hearing drafting a qb(williams, maye) or mhj with our first pick and an Ol with our second pick but im not seeing any o-lineman being hyped on this sub constantly. My question is whos that guy?
Mhjr, then Joe alt. That’s are 1st round…
It’s always been Olu over Alt, but recently I’ve seen rumblings that Alt would be preferable to Alt. It may be due to Olu being more or less a top 5 lock, while Alt could just be a top 10 lock. It also may be Olu struggling a bit against (I forget if it was Tuimoloau or Sawyer) OSU, or it may just be PFF’s incomplete high ratings they’ve given Alt that everyone fawns over, but those same PFF scores have rated Sam Mustipher well for us in games where he looked like a kid that found a genie lamp and wished he was in the nfl, but didn’t wish for nfl talent. But the thing is, if you trade down because you’re comfortable landing Alt later in the top ten and you miss out, well then you have missed out on both. To me, both are better than the top perceived OT from last year that went 6th overall.
For what it’s worth, PFF rated Mustipher’s performance against the NY Giants last year as a 6/100, so I don’t know where you got that example from.
How about move Tev to LT grab a dominant G and C.
I think people have generally been saying MHJ and Olu/Alt. The nameless “draft x position” has been DL/edge. It’s up for debate if there’s any edge player worth a top 10 pick.
This is a weak year for Edges. I like Laiatu Latu-UCLA and Dallas Turner-Alabama but neither are Top 10 worthy IMO. Maybe 3 total 1st Rd Edges this year.
Olu Fashanu is 1a, Joe Alt 1b, both Top talents. I’d also like to add, although not a 1st Rd player Zach Frazier-Center-WVU is a guy I’d love for us to target.
