Instantly I know I’ll get the crew who is already done with fields knocking me for this take.

But for the rest of us who still feel like maybe… Fields still could be the guy…

OL is playing well, defense playing well and instantly improved by Sweat. Moore is still the best player on the team, Kmet, Mooney, Foreman, Herbert coming back, great opportunity for Fields to show if he can be the guy we thought he could (and show consistency) before the franchise moves on.

Admittedly I’ve been very reluctant to give up on fields, I just see so much potential fucked up by (imo) coaching and play calling. But I will move on if he gets to prove me wrong through the rest of the season… or he can prove me right and we can ball out on other positional needs and make our run!

I just want success for Da Bears, Bear Down

I think if Fields will look much better behind this significantly improved O line and defense. I hope the coaching staff tells him that we don’t need him to be perfect. We hung in there and only lost by one score vs the Saints after turning it over FIVE times. Our defense is good enough that we can afford a few mistakes on offense now. Eventually our defense should even be able to generate some turnovers.

I want us to be aggressive downfield on those 3rd and longs. Just throw a deep bomb that’s essentially a punt. Sometimes draw a PI, sometimes throw a pick (which would be similar to a punt), and just go for it. Stop with the 4 yard runs on 3rd and 12. Remember last year when Fields would just keep it himself and run for 16 yards? He has no chance of doing that now because they just call some dumb run or screen that gets blown up immediately.

I think people need to realize the O line looks significantly improved because Fields isn’t playing.

Come on now. Bagent has had fairly clean pockets to throw out of. Fields had guys in his face because defenders were coming off the line completely unblocked even when only rushing 4. It took a while, but the offensive line is communicating with one another better and getting their blocking assignments down now.

There are countless clips out there of defenders running unblocked towards Fields because we had silly things happening on the o line like a double team on one guy, another lineman blocking the air, and then a defender running straight at Fields.

Look up any JT O Sullivan video from the first 4 or 5 weeks on the bears. The O line was laughably bad. JT O literally called out the Bears offense for having a player out of place or missing simple assignments on every play.

It’s crazy people don’t understand this.

        Bagents last 5 chiago bears games (4 starts + 2 quarters) = 5 sacks.

Fields during the same 5 chicago bears games (2.5 quarters of play) = 4 sacks.

I am firmly convinced that we win that Saints game running away with Fields behind center.
