Kind of funny…because the coaching tree he was a part of the Parcells coaching tree was pretty fruitful with Belichick, Coughlin, and Sean Payton.

I’d assume he doesn’t mentor these guys. He just tells them to focus on their job and leave him the F alone. Big difference between coordinator and coach, also. Mcdaniels is a terrible coach but good coordinator. There’s half a dozen of these genius’ out there who can’t control/coach an entire team.

They try to import the Belichick persona/Patriot Way and it never works out. They don’t take what they’ve learned to develop their own leadership and culture. They just try to be Belichick and phonies don’t last in this league. Maybe they’d still be bad, but they never had a chance.

Because of Tom Brady. Tom Brady was always the cog that kept the machine running.

Without him? Well, we’ve seen the results.

Because his assistants attempt to recreate his style with other teams but without the credibility of 6 rings to back it up.

Well, to be able to coach and build a team like what the Patriots WERE, you need one of the best QBs that ever played the game buy in on your methods.

Because he doesn’t teach his coaches anything. It’s the Patriot Way: you show up and do your job. He expects everyone to already know what they’re doing. Coaches like Andy though, he coaches his staff just as much as his players throughout the season.
