Tonights game pits the 1-7 Panthers against the 2-7 Bears. I for one am incredibly excited because I believe TNF is about watching bad football.
My favorite TNF game of all time was the WK 14 2013 game pitting an awful Texans squad against my own awful Jaguars. Jaguars would go on to win an incredibly ugly and penalty filled (22 of them) 27-20 with Matt Schaub, Case Keenum, Chad Henne, and MJD putting on a show for a national audience that probably went to bad that night with the same feeling as you would have after going minor league hockey game.
What are some other wonderfully awful TNF Matchups that we can remember?
2015 Bills v Jets color rush game. Bills wore bright red. Jets wore bright green. Everyone who was red-green colorblind was unable to watch the game because they couldn’t tell the teams apart. Also, the game was one sided despite what the final score suggests. What an incredible disaster.
As much of a disaster that year panned out to be on the last game of the season, that was the last time the Jets had a competent offense throughout a season and I would give anything for that kind of production with the defense we have now.
