I am an LSU fan and during Burrow’s college days I noticed that on a lot of deep balls Joe will under throw his receivers and Chase and JJ were almost always able to track back and make the catch. I assumed that Joe didn’t have the consistent arm strength.

When he came to the NFL I was a little worried about this being taken advantage by the higher caliber of DB’s in the league. But it has continued to work and he can pinpoint dimes on deep balls as well so it has to be a tactical decision based on coverages and how the DB’s are playing his receivers.

I only watch LSU/Saints and now Bengals games aside from sporadic highlights. I don’t remember Drew Brees doing this, do any other top level QB’s strategically under throw their receivers like Burrow does?

It was the only offensive threat the colts had to offer during their Carson Wentz season.

Yep! Came here to say that. Wouldn’t surprised if pass interference had more yards than any individual receiver that year. Some hefty chunks of yardage gained that way.
