I just came here to post about this. I was reaching nights with 40%+ battery life before the update; yesterday, I had ~7%, and today it’s draining uncharacteristically quickly as well. Kind of ironic that the update supposed to fix battery life is hurting it so noticeably, but yeah. And the whole indexing argument seems so dumb, lol. It’s literally a patch release; WTF would there be to index? And for this long? Even if there hypothetically were, it should do it while charging, for what it’s worth, and obviously not while wearing it. Additionally, not even watchOS 10.1 had any effect on battery life.

The day I updated to 10.1, my watch dropped from 55% to 5% in 6 hours while I slept and on low power mode, I run one 3rd party app that installed when I got the watch 12 months ago.

It obviously drained and turned off itself, I put it on charge(and forgot about it) for about 6 hours and since then it’s been back to great battery life. So from that and what others told me, after it updates the watch is running overtime in the background doing its thing.

      Hope this helps.

Or do this “indexing” before telling us the update is complete. This nonsense year after year is getting old.
