What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

    Sam Bradford’s body failed him. Dude was immensely talented and a pretty smart QB. No reason he couldn’t have done much more with a real supporting cast as a youngin and better injury luck throughout

            But he didn’t. There’s a but right there. If he had a better coach and offensive line he could have been an all pro. There’s your If. And you smell like a fat kids closet. There’s your and for the trifecta.

      STL native and saw a lot of his early Rams games. The dude was actually a very good football player but the injuries mounted and years of bad o line play did him no favors. I have no doubt he’d be wrapping up a terrific career these days if he still played.

      He came in for the Vikings and immediately went 8-0 competing 70% off his passes. He was the best QB we had since the Brett Favre rental. Guy was so talented.

      Bradford was basically another Palmer, except he was drafted into a team with just Steve Jackson, Danny Amendola, and a bunch of JAGs. At least Palmer had a great offense and a rookie season on the bench.

      Perfect touch on his passes, perfect mechanics, good pocket presence, incredible accuracy, and a strong arm on top of it. Watching his game as a Viking (against the Saints) in 2017 should show people why Bradford went #1 overall and why he kept getting chances.

      If that OL weren’t horrendous when he started I would wager he’d have a better career. He won more games his rookie year than the Rams did in the 3 years leading up to his draft, combined, and had they won Week 17 against Seattle the Rams would be a playoff team.

      I’m just imagining how McVays offense would look with him instead of Goff or Stafford.
