What player in the NFL, past or present, would you have wanted to see succeed so badly but due to injuries, off the field issues, or whatever happened just derailed their career? For me it was unfortunate to see players like Josh Gordon or Justin Blackmon have their careers end or never getting back on track because of off-field issues.

Bo Jackson is the closest thing to a real life superhero that we have ever seen. I’m 50 and he is by far the greatest athlete I have ever seen, and it’s not even close.

Because people think he had a much more productive career than he did. I hear people in real life say he’s one of the greatest all the time, and I always sound like an asshole when I point out he never even had a 1000 yard season

I have won a lot of free drinks at bars because of this. Jim Harbaugh has more career rushing yards than Bo Jackson. That is how short his career was. Still hands down, would have been one of the greats. Oh, Jackson career yards, 2782, Harbaugh 2787 . Still makes me sick we all were robbed of his career.

Well he also only was available after the Royals season was over, and shared the backfield backfield with a fella by the name of Marcus Allen.

That’s because he never played a full season. Part of the reason he agreed to play for the Raiders is that Al Davis promised that he could play baseball until that season wrapped, then join the team. A lot of people forget that Bo was drafted #1 by the Bucs, but he refused to play for them as they ruined his senior year of baseball eligibility. Al Davis drafted him in the 7th rd. the following year, and made the deal with him about baseball, so Bo agreed to play football.
