I’ve got a story worth sharing.

So, my 2019 16" MacBook Pro blew a gasket. The Apple Authorized Service Provider determined that I needed a new logic board. When the three-year warranty was up, I debated whether to pay the $136 to extend AppleCare+ by a year: I decided it was worth it—thinking about the screen more than anything else.

Fortunately, AppleCare covered the repair (approx $900). Once that repair was done, they determined there was a problem with the touch bar. To repair that, you need a new body, and my body had a couple of dents; therefore, the warranty didn’t cover the whole repair. The charge was $99.

So, I just got the computer back. The latter repair included a completely new keypad, a new body, ports, and because of the design, a new battery.

So by continuing the AppleCare+ and with a total cost of $136+$99, I have basically a brand-new laptop. Even the screen is in perfect condition.

The moral of the story is obvious. I could have ended up considering spending $2000 to repair what I have or buying a new one for $3200 with AppleCare again.
