Is buying a iPhone in India a good choice?

So guys I am currently thinking very hard if I should buy iPhone or not I am thinking of buying 14 or 15 base 128 gb variant (u could tell me which one is better).

So I wanted to ask u guys(not to iPhone fanboys) that is my money worth it cause I am thinking of using it atleast 3-4 yrs. I want iphone as I know it’s got the best performance and camera in the smartphone market and I am thinking of completing my college with this iphone.

Pls tell me all the pros and cons u have experienced in using iPhone till now. except for WhatsApp chat transfer when switching over from android (as I don’t have important chats) and ecosystem (as I don’t own any apple devices)

Thanks if u replied.

I have yet to have an iPhone die on me after several years of use. I never had even one problem with any iPhone I had to this day. They’re good for years and years if you keep care of and don’t drop them all the time (looking at you mom in law). It’s also so so easy to use, UI looks incredibly clean. And when I’m ready to buy a new one and sell (after maybe 4-5 years or longer) I still get a good amount of money for it. I also have an iPad, sync is great, didn’t have any problems with that either. I’ll probably never go back to any other phone.

I think iOS is a subpar operating system from almost every aspect except smooth animations.

I bought it because it’s the only smartphone that has a pro model with a smaller size factor. Don’t get me wrong, it’s usable it’s just subpar, less customization, less QoL features, worse keyboard, notifications, fewer features (caller id, volume mixer, web browsers are gimped, can’t really change many default apps), inconsistent design and more…

The advantages of socially fitting in with iMessage and the ecosystem are irrelevant to me and those are the main reasons for iPhone

My two cents - switched to iPhone after 10 years because of usb C. I believe it’s a game changer. Next gen iPhone will focus on battery improvements but the 15/pro have phenomenal battery already and USB c charges super fast.

After getting used to it while there are things I absolutely hate, it has a few benefits -

    • somehow apple is always able to get a way better idle battery

    • iPhone / blue chat boxes are definitely a status symbol in society and even people that don’t care will be mildly annoyed subconsciously by small differences in behavior vs txting an android user

    • apple integrates a lot of things in a cleaner way. If you set up notifications properly for your use case you can really organize your life at a glance and eliminate unnecessary constant pinging.

    • Pay integrating with shop and flight apps is great, I hate having to search for those

    • if you use apple messages/email/safari integration a Mac is great (like google and android)

    • all the features for the kids like the emojis and video editing capabilities I haven’t really touched yet

    • UI is way better than anything else out of the box. Only pixel really compares IMO, everyone else has a lot of bloatware and ugly skins etc. ESPECIALLY SAMSUNG.

    For cons -

Google apps look like trash when you have OLED black on everything else

Native apple apps for email/calendar are limited compared to google ones so you have to have both if you want to use the native app, then clean up the notifications.

Android imo has a lot more advanced features and capabilities at the top end (although I think apple is more reliable than most androids for longer 3 years)

Moving from android to android is easy, took me two 12 hour days to move to iPhone.
