I just walked out of my work building and smashed my Apple watch really hard against the (metal) doorframe, and it took me until I got to my car to muster up the courage to inspect the damage 🥴 Incredibly, not a scratch on it. I’m genuinely surprised it didn’t crack.

Time to stop being lazy and buy a cover, I just hate the way they look but if I actually end up smashing this thing I’ll be gutted.

I spent the extra dosh to get a sapphire screen on my (Garmin) watch. I’ve had it for 4.5 years, it’s been through the wars. The metal around the body has scratches, the paint has come off is a few places. The watch face itself though is perfect - as pristine as the day I bought it. It cost $150 more than the gorilla glass watch, but the investment has totally been worth it, given the rugged life it leads.

Oh. I just looked up the Apple store. The Ultra (Apple’s sapphire watch) is $600 more expensive. Yeah - get a cover. :)

I keep forgetting you can buy covers for your watches. The amount of times I’ve banged my hand/wrists into walls and doors is staggering. There’s a few scratches but nothing you notice unless you really look.
