In laymen’s terms (not good with all this tech jargon), what is the different between M3, M3 Pro and M3 Max…is the price increase worth it for what you get in return??

Depends on if you need the speed. I’d say the base m3 pro when it’s available for discount is the best for price and what you get. Older m2 pros on discount probably even better value

It’s just marketing for performance, or how fast/powerful each one is. M3 Max > M3 Pro > M3. The price increase is only worth it if you’re doing something that requires more processing power. If you’re just using a MacBook for basic things like browsing the web, reading the news, watching YouTube and Netflix, etc., the M3 is more than fine.

Though I would recommend splurging for the 16GB of Unified Memory. It’ll let you do more things at once, and helps you future-proof a bit.
