Ive never personally owned a macbook, nor any laptop with a touchbar, but i love the idea of having one as a volume slider, with the addition of being able to skip youtube ads. Definitely a fun little module

What do you think?

That would be cool but it won’t fit as a module, as it needs to be in a certain size. Function keys and numpad are irreplaceable to me.

I was thinking about this last night. Would be a cool add on. I really hope third parties start making modules after the 16 comes out

I can tell you, I thought the touchbar would be really nice and useful but the truth was that like no application (besides Microsoft Office) did support it so it was basically useless and I would have preferred regular function keys.

As someone who has used the touchbar, it is infinitely worse than the function row. It makes changing the volume a 2 or 3 button press and looking down at the touchbar instead of using muscle memory to blindly reach and make a quick change. Apple had the best chance of getting software support because they made both the operating system and the hardware, and they’re known for being the most capable of getting new technologies supported by third parties. While not always the case, I think that if apple couldn’t make the touchbar successful, then no one else can.

The touchbar was quite popular. I never meant for it to replace the function row, more of an addon
