Just a reminder that macs use swap memory with SSD which is why we don’t see much of a difference. What’s the drawback? The fact that all SSDs have a rated TBW, i.e. the amount of bytes you can write on it before it starts failing. Granted SSDs in macs have a good rating but you are just compromising the health of your SSD in order to get similar performance.
