I just purchased my new home and i need robot vacuum and mopping cleaner. I am going back and forth between S7 maxV ultra and newer S8 pro ultra. Reviews are making it even harder to decide between the two :/ On my main floor and have mostly hardwood floor, except one (office/child play) room. So i was wondering which one would you recommend? And yes, probably worth mentioning. I have a 6mo old baby, so there probably will be a lot of toys (obstacles to avoid)

Commenting because I’m curious too. I’m leaning towards the S7 - from what I’ve seen, it looks like the S7 has better obstacle avoidance and I like the auto refill kit that I can hook up to a water line so I don’t have to add water.

The dual roller and stronger mopping are strong points on the S8, but I don’t think it’s enough to justify going with it over the S7

I went through this debate recently coming off of an aging Neato.

I saved a few $ and went with the Revo - I’m told the active avoidance isn’t quite as good as the S Ultras, but it’s pretty impressive dancing around fully chair-populated-table legs etc with no issues, and has the spinning mop heads, which I am expecting to see Roborock probably move to over the vibrating pads.

YMMV; just throwing another option out there.

I have an S8 Pro Ultra and I’m very happy with it. I don’t have anything to compare it to because it’s my first robot vacuum/mop combo, but I can tell you I set it up, told it to clean, and it mapped and cleaned my entire house.

I now have it set to clean half the house on Saturdays and half the house on Sundays. I also have it set to clean the foyer where my danes drool water from their bowls once a day. It’s been fantastic and has saved literally hours and hours of sweeping and mopping time. It doesn’t do a perfect job, but it’s fine to keep it looking swept and mopped on a daily/weekly basis.

My wife sweeps/mops about an hour a week now, where before it was 5 hours a week due to the dogs.

I’d buy this again in a heartbeat. I did get it 500 dollars off during the Labor Day sale, which made it JUST palatable enough to push the buy button.
