You rip the bandaid now, have several months to conduct a search, and you can get one of the better candidates before they’re off the market. Otherwise you’re stuck with the next Eberflus once all the good candidates are picked over. They hired Nagy on January 10th, they hired Eberflus on January 27th. That couple weeks can make a big difference. I know Nagy didn’t work out but he was actually THE guy that off-season.
