Daniel Jeremiah on Move the Sticks:

"That Bears team is not talented. I mean, they are 10 players away from being 10 players away. I mean they have not a lot going on there. They are not good on offensive line, they aren’t good on the defensive line. DJ Moore is a stud…but that is their guy.

This (team) is not a quarterback away. Obviously they are going to be in a position more than likely with their pick as well as owning the Panthers pick…they are going to have a chance to go in that direction if they want to move on from Justin Fields, but they got MAJOR work to do on this roster."

“I think they have to commit to a QB…they need to trade their other pick to amass a bunch of picks. They need to auction it off because they need a lot of help.”

PAAAIIIIIIINNNNNNN.

People say that as if the Bears as currently constructed are one of the worst teams of all time. I get we’re a continual laughing stock, but we aren’t even the worst team in the league and by some metrics aren’t even in the bottom 3. “10 players away from being 10 players away” would put us in contention for like the worst ever, basically saying we don’t have NFL quality players anywhere.

That’s complete hyperbole. We are missing All-Pro talent, other Pro Bowl caliber starters, some depth and have a god awful coaching staff.

That just makes us regular bad. Which we routinely are. But this isn’t the most challenging job for a GM ever. There are some good bones on the roster.
