Pretty much the title. I’ve seen plenty of people using proxmox and truenas but I don’t really see many homelab users running Ubuntu server or something similar? Do many people actually use it to run docker or any containers on their machines? Just curious.

I run Debian on bare metal as my docker host.
Most of my servers are Ubuntu.
I do. A lot of people running it don’t need to post with basic questions.

I used to use Ubuntu bare metal with docker containers until I switched to unraid for my main/media server. I still use Ubuntu for my game servers as I use AMP to manage those.
I started with it now use Proxmox with a few Ubuntu Server LXC.
Years ago, for a few years.
What I disliked most was distribution upgrade.
Ubuntu pacakages using non bleeding edge parts
Using repositories.
Now I use Arch Linux on all including the Server, Arcade, etc. It’s superior for so many reasons.

I do. Also have Docker/portainer on it.
I use it on my prodmox server. Currently I think I have 5 VMs on it. Currently pihole, docker and three in a k3s cluster.
Ubuntu server is my distro of choice, mostly beacuse i have used it for so long and it runs good for me so no need to change :D
I have been using ubuntu server since it came out. Now with ubuntu moves to snap, I have been moving to debian.
It’s great for Apache and stuff like Unifi Controllers.
My NAS is Ubuntu Server running SnapRaid and MergerFS.
I use it to host VMware Workstation. Originally started with Proxmox but I had more experience with VMware so I decided to go that route. Works for what I need. Using Packer to create my images and use Vagrant to manage the building and breakdown of my lab.
