I recently checked my SMART variables on my nas, and couldnt believe it for this drive (1911 PB Written, 3485 PB Read). So I plugged it into a Windows machine and still got the same results. Could this indication be wrong? and if so how can I get this drive to show reliable SMART variables again?
Use different programs, essentially. It’s up to them to interpret the data reported by SMART and represent it. They’re probably reading a value which would actually represent LBAs written, but interpreting it as GB instead.
