I’m glad I don’t watch these live anyone
Welp, if the refurbished 13" MPBs run out before I can grab one I guess my next laptop will be an Asus or Acer.
I’ve looked at the 14" and 16" in person and the notch is just too noticeable for me.
🥱
At this rate I feel I’m going to stay with my M1 Mac Mini forever.
The scary part was a 8gb of ram for a 2100€ laptop lol
I’m pretty sure that they are not doing the 27" iMac anymore so that if people want a bigger screen, and want to stick with Apple products, they have to shell out for the Studio Display. If they get the Studio Display then they have to get a Mac Mini or a MacBook instead of just the iMac.
I’m looking to get the 14inch M2 pro, is the single fan a problem? Was the 14inch always single fan?
I’m amazed they’re still selling that lightning Magic Mouse.
Man, configuration on these new models is weird.
RAM options:
- M3: 8/16/24 GB (same as M2)
- M3 Pro: 18/36 GB
- M3 Max: 36/96 GB if you get the binned version, 48/64/128 GB if you get the unbinned one
So an M3 Pro with 38 GB RAM is $100 cheaper than an M2 Pro with 32 GB RAM, but you do trade two performance cores for two efficiency ones. Probably no practical difference for most, but surprising nonetheless. (Also, the memory bandwidth has been reduced from 200 GB/s to 150; M3 and M3 Max are unaffected)
The minimum price for a 48 GB RAM model (it’s tied to an unbinned CPU and GPU) is the same one would pay for an M2 Max with 64 GB RAM. If you still want 64 GB, it’s $200 more expensive now.
…But if you’re really RAM-bound and don’t care for maximum CPU or GPU performance, you could also get a binned M3 Max with 96 GB RAM, and it’s only $100 more expensive than the unbinned model with 64 GB RAM. That’s $100 cheaper than an unbinned M2 Max with the same 96 GB RAM.
Why did they not update the Magic Keyboard, mouse and trackpad to USB-C!?!?
Is it such a big deal? These aren’t portable devices like iPhones or Bluetooth speakers.
They sit on your desk - the cable is USB C to Lightning… so it’s not like it’s difficult to charge them.
You’ve clearly been trained to accept exactly what Tim Cook does or does not give you. “Big deal”. No, life in Gaza or Ukraine is a big deal. None of this is. But would it be nice to fully move on from lightning? Is it maybe time for that? I would say yes.
I giggled and smiled when Tim appeared and said “good evening,” and I gasped with delight when the end screen shot displayed “This event was shot on iPhone and edited on Mac.” For a first of its kind time and themed event, I was impressed.
I also watched it for no other reason than that, though I’ve been an iPhone and Apple Watch user for years, I just got my first MacBook Air less than two weeks ago. I was curious to see if a new Air would be part of the line up.
As far as my new M2, yes, yes, I am in Love! A slight learning curve coming from a lifetime of Windows PCs, but I’m getting the hang of it. Zero complaints.
Macbook Pro with a touchscreen would be awesome. Is there any specific reason why we don’t have it yet?
I have here one ~5yo HP x360 with a touchscreen and it’s awesome for media consumption.
What does everyone think of getting a Macbook with M2 Max versus M3 Pro? It looks like they’d be a comparable price now, but I can’t tell what the differences are through all the buzzwords.
I went from my 27 inch 2019 iMac to this new 24 inch one but I’m annoyed they didn’t give it more than 24 gb of ram….
Studio Display… with an M3pro/max…. How hard is this? Why is this not a thing?
