It’s theocracy that’s barbaric. Republicans would have the US reshaped into a Christian version of Iran’s government with Trump as the Supreme Leader.
The homicide rate can never measure up to a government that oppresses its own people.
Maybe they could start with Saudi Arabia then, their closest Muslim ally in the region?
Barbarism can’t be measured with homicide rate in full. Homicide rate is actually quite a random characteristic. Barbarism is a lack of civilization. Religion-based society can’t be considered civilized in XXI century.

We are not really comparing our cultures are we? Because we are seriously depraved compared to them. Yes their leadership sucks, but the US has done so much worse to countless people around the world and its own citizens.

To start off with the US was built on the slave trade. The founding fathers left places where slavery was going out of style so they could continue to practice it. 41 out of 56 of the declaration signers owned slaves.
The US proceeded to exterminate the Native Americans. The Nazi looked up to the US and Hitler modeled his final solution on how the US committed this genocide.
At first he just wanted to expel the Jews. The wealthy people of the US threw a fit and made sure the US wouldn’t take them in. What was even more messed up is that they then lobbied the rest of the nations not to take the Jews in. We helped cause the Holocaust and that is not even the worst part.
The Nazi needed a lot of material support that wealthy people like Ford gave. You remember those numbers on the Jews arms? Well you see they needed a way to track them and IBM lended a helping hand by developing the numbering system.
Then IBM lent their computing power to figure out how many Jews needed to be “cleared” out of the ghettos daily to empty them out in the most efficient way possible.
The US of course came in to clean up claiming victory in WWII even if the Soviets did the majority of the work. Just like WWI, there were serious problems that the US created that lead to the next war known as the Cold War.
During the Cold War we started some serious sanctions. It is estimated that these sanctions killed 500k civilians a year for the last 50 years or so. That is about 25 million deaths based purely on the fact that we don’t like a countries policies.
The US has engaged in countless military operations around the world often in clandestine means such as arming guerilla forces, engaging in terrorism, coups, and good old fashion military action.
You simply can’t compare Iran to how murderous the US is. This isn’t even getting into the horrible things the US has done to it own citizens such as the Tuskegee expirements, the sterilization of Puerto Rico, and the War on Drug just to name a few.
So please just consider that calling others barbarians is like the pot calling the kettle black. We are without a doubt the most murderous nation ever by a very huge margin.

Pardon my example, but that’s the same as calling Asia “Chingchong”. it was racist as fuck back in the Roman times, but because we forgot that meaning, so we still use it. and somehow the modern meaning of “Uncivilized violent dirty people’s” is even more racist than the Roman usage.

I am saying that cops are bastards, no matter where. It doesn’t matter if they arrest you for not wearing a hijab, or for looking like a Mexican.
Every country has their share of police brutality, it just gets worse in autocratic governments. But demonizing Iranians as barbarians will not contribute to the solution of the problem, and only feed the racism towards people of middle eastern heritage.

Iran kills innocent people not charged with crimes including simply pushing gay men off roofs. Let’s not do false equivalencies, here.
