I always have the 6.1 inch, it’s like a sweet spot

But that got me thinking I won’t mind going for the bigger one to bump up the battery

What do the max users think? Is it better with user experience as well?

I have had the same question before buying my first max, and now I can tell you that is not that big, it is great, I will never buy smaller phone. My daughter is using my old max and she also is very fine with the size

For me nope, but I’ve got big enough hands to manage it. Moved from 13P to 15PM and got used to it in like a day, didn’t notice much difference and not sure I can go back.

I‘ve switched back to the Pro, coming from a 13 Pro Max. The Max wasn’t too big to handle for me, but for my personal preferences too big to have it in my pocket all the time when I‘m not at home. I also don’t need that much battery.

Tbh, I would prefer a Pro Mini because of this reason. But that will never happen.

I am 6’9” with large hands.

I got the PM a week ago. Equipped it with a minimal case. Annnnnd I am torn. It still is a little too big for 1 hand use comfortably. My pinky is stresssed after propping it up. Maybe a socket would help, idk.

I do feel myself getting used to it, but I came from an 11 (6.1”), and that honestly feels like the sweet spot.

Can’t beat the battery though. My day starts at 4:30AM and my battery is at 65% by 9PM with typical use (maps, browsing, etc).

Battery is everything. Pro didn’t last me through the day. Pro max I can cruise through. So I deal with the size

I’ve been using the max size since it was introduced with the XS Max and have had every gen and wouldn’t consider going back down to the “regular” size. I find the additional screen and battery brings more benefit than drawbacks and unless you have particularly small hands, the size isn’t “problematic”. I can use it one-handed with ease and have completely, to the mm, average sized hands for a male.

Now the rumor mill suggesting the max (or ultra as it may be called) will be bumped up from 6.7” to 6.9” and although that’s a nice number, I find 6.7” to be the ideal size (again with my 100% average hand size) and even incrementing upward just that small bit will potentially discourage a lot of current max owners from continuing to purchased the larger sized devices. It will be a hard decision, imo, because I find the “regular” size phones to be too small.

yeah true, battery and additional screen is always a plus

where do they draw the line though? tablets were first 7 inch and now the standard has become 11 to 13 inch

I think the line is 7.0” but I’d like it to stay at 6.7”… My iPhone really is my do everything device, it’s by far the most versatile piece of tech because it has arguably the broadest versatility and all in the size of a little slab that fits in your pant pocket.

I do happen to have both an iPad mini 6th Gen and an 11” iPad Pro and both respective sizes serve very different purposes for me.

The 8.3” (iirc) screen of the iPad actually feels surprisingly big in comparison to the iPhone so as a media device, it does very well. I use it in the gym and for travel quite extensively. It’s the right size of big enough that it doesn’t need to be in your hands to view it but small enough that it doesn’t get in the way. Just wish it were OLED or Micro-LED…

Then the iPad Pro fills the void left between the iPad Mini and my 16” MBP. With the “magic” keyboard, it serves as a quasi laptop replacement for many simple tasks and provides a slightly better media experience when size and heft are less imperative.

Also, I’m by no means trying to “flex” by listing out all these devices. This is purely an exercise in use case from one device to the next lol. I have every intention of thinning the herd I just can’t decide which iPad is less useful.

No its a decent size. When I first got the 13 Pro Max after the XR it took some getting used to it, but the 15 Pro Max feels normal. I actually can understand why they are making the phones even bigger though they can’t that much bigger before they won’t fit in pants pockets though.

yeah i think they almost reached the limit already, what they can do now is making the bezels thinner and thinner each time

So I’m using a Max model for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised how manageable it is. Maybe it’s the softer edges and lighter weight, but it doesn’t feel THAT much larger than my old 14 Pro and I still use it one-handed for many idle tasks.

I just switched from the Pro Max to the regular Pro, and I don’t think I’d ever go back. The smaller size is easier to carry & use. I do miss the battery life of the Pro Max, but since I’m always surrounded by chargers, it’s not that big of a deal.

If Apple can make a better battery for the regular Pro models, they will have created the perfect phone.

true, i use both chargers in the car as well as at home, so battery is not a problem, i do like the idea of an additional screen size

I went from a 6.1 to a 6.7 15PM and it’s too heavy and big for me. I have medium hands 🙌 and the large size aggravates my carpal tunnel. I spend less time on the 6.7 and plan on going back to the latest 6.1 base in 2 years.
