In the past, I usually order a case right after I order a new phone, but considering that these phones have gotten really tough (or I’ve gotten more careful since I became a 30) and the 15 is titanium, I’m rolling no case for at least the first month or two. I’ve got insurance so if I break a screen it’s just like a 23 dollar deductible to fix a screen 🤷🏼♂️
I’ve been doing the same with my 13pm. I clean it regularly and realized how beautiful the phone is, and how much I’m paying for insurance over the life of the phone. Next day replacement through Verizon, I’ve really enjoyed rocking no case
Yeah I had myself convinced the case was more comfortable to us (with the magnetic wallet/card holder) but now I’m realizing I was just accustomed to that. I rock a 15pm with a little wallet attachment straight on the phone. Never comes off and feels so much better in my hands. Like you said… wtf else am I paying for this insurance for…
Of course. In worst case aye I have care plus
Yeah mines through AT&T. My nearest apple store is like an hour away but my local AT&T has an Genius Bar in it with certified apple techs. So it’s not so bad.
i use a clear matte case.
I tried the hard plastic clear cases. The rubber ones the ones that feel like glass… it’s definitely better than a big bulky case but I’ve had bad luck with clear cases. One of them would slip out of my hand but get stuck in the pocket of my sweat pants 😂😂
I only rock no case when I am not at work. I don’t have the ability to run to an Apple Store during work so if the glass or something breaks, I don’t wanna deal with that all day (and sometimes several in a row, I have a weird schedule) until I can make it. If something happens on my day off, it’s easier to deal with using my AppleCare+.
I’ve been trying but this thing is slippery asf. I’ve been using it no case at home (not on tile) but how are you guys getting around how it slides right out of the hand?
It felt like that for me for the first week. I put my 14pm case on my 15 and it felt sooo bulky. I think our phones are just such an extension of ourselves at this point and our hands are so tactile. It throws your muscle memory out of wack.
I use a case, but I also go like six years without upgrading.
So how are you liking the 15 compared to the 9? That’s a pretty big jump. My wife had an 11 until we both got the 15. 6 years is a lot of cycles on a battery so I’d say that’s a pretty drastic difference on its own.
It was actually a 7, so I guess I went 7 years.
Yeah, it’s a pretty big difference.
I’ve got a peak design case. Didn’t have it for a month and my 15pm did its best freshly caught fish impression onto the road. New screen, screen protector and case now.
Magsafe accessories also don’t work as well without a MagSafe case and I run a MagSafe wallet (PD now as my apple leather one was getting beat up and I’d like more than 3 cards)
Caseless on my 13PM, caseless on my 15PM. Feels so much nicer than the 13PM. Will probably get a dbrand at some stage, had the leather on my 13 for a year and it was great, if not a bit weak with MagSafe accessories
Exactly! I have never got a new phone and been like “I’m not putting a case on this bad boy” but when I felt the 15 and how much lighter it was and not as slippery I definitely did lol.
This has been asked 50 times already.
You find me someone who said exactly what I did and I’ll delete my Reddit account
You can’t be serious. Dude countless people have asked whether anyone is going caseless on their 15. Stop being stupid. Why do you feel the need to let Reddit know that you’re going caseless for a couple of months and that you’ve got insurance?? The amount of dumbass posts on this page is getting ridiculous.
