I currently have the Ultra 1, but I have been wearing more analog watches lately. I realized health tracking is the main reason I have an Apple Watch. I’m thinking about downgrading to a S9 instead because S9 is smaller and sleeker. I would love to hide it under a sleeve or put it on my upper arm.

Anyone else make the switch? Any pros and cons in daily life?

I upgraded from a stainless steel 41mm. If you have a wrist size smaller than 7 inches round, I recommend the smaller size. It slides easily under a cuff and is an afterthought unlike the Ultra or 45mm.

For context, I usually wear automatic watches before buying the Ultra 2, two weeks ago. Prior, I only wore the 41mm size for sleep and workouts.

I did this, I couldn’t sleep in my awu due to it being too big, I sleep fine with my s9. As for downgrade it’s pros and cons because yes the ultra has better battery but it’s also like 4x as fucking big

The ultra is a utility watch, cracks me up seeing people who work in an office and who’s only hobby is going to the pub with those ugly things on their wrists.

This is where next generation wearables like smart rings will be handy. Get all/most of the tracking but still wear an old style watch

Have a Rolex Submariner. Love the steel watches. Have been an Apple fan since 2012 and finally got the Ultra2. I hesitated for many years to get an Apple watch due to the low battery.

Im happy with it, but still, if I want style its back to a classic steel watch. Happy, meaning, love the health tracking, ecg, heart rate, sleep monitoring and so on. Great for the gym. Cant wait to dive with it later this year. Still, nothing beats a classic analog watches for class and fit.

Going to a S9 might look better, but this IS a tool watch for me and I use it that way.

I sold my ultra on Swappa. It was too much for me Bought a graphite SS Apple Watch 7 on Swappa and was able to save a little $$ However, I’m having a hell of time getting cellular activated because it’s a refurb watch

Wouldn’t call it downgrade. It’s a completely different watch for different needs. S9 is definitely more seeker and in mu opinion better for day to day use.

If you just want a health tracker without a screen, there are plenty of those from other brands that connect to Apple Health.

yep, the smaller and sleeker is the reason why I actually moved to Apple Watch from Garmin, I loved my Garmin and it was awesome but the size and weight was too much, whilst the Apple Watch 41mm I can barely feel it’s there which I love, not ready to go back to a heavy brick again
