One of my parents has become dangerously underweight. We’re working with doctors on it. But one thing that they agreed would help would just be calorie counting. (They don’t realize how little they’re eating.)

I’m getting my parents Apple Watches (ultras if not too heavy; for battery life). [having recently spent time in hospital trying to untangle events regular vitals tracking sounds very smart]

Question:
What are good ways to track food / calorie intake on watch?

Natively. 3rd party. Whatever.

Huge bonus if it can be done with voice control.

Thank you all for any help 🙏

Just be careful using the AW (or any fitness tracker) to count calories.

Apple Watch overestimates calories by anywhere from 10-25%, with many factors determining that.

You can use MyFitnessPal to track intake, then it’ll take some use of the Apple Watch to find out how much it is off for their body.

One of my buddies AWs is off by 10%. Mine is off my 20%. It depends on so many things.

      Thanks.
I’m definitely not trying to balance out AW numbers. (And I realize that would be a fool’s game. They’re going to be very approximate at best.). I’m not even concerned with the AW expended numbers.

I just want to track food being eaten.
