I need help, I’ve decided to take a leap and buy a rackable unit.

I want a system to act as Homelab server (Minecraft, Sophos firewall and run cloud storage), but also be a development machine (as VM). I like the idea of add a GPU to system. I know both systems support GPU (a little 7910 more). I have a limited budget approx £200.

I have already a 2017 machine with an AMD10 acting as NAS and limited Proxmox server) - probably use the new machine for promos.

I have been looking at Dell PowerEdge R730 for around £200, but recent I have found a Dell Precision R7910 for £130.

The Dell PowerEdge has duel Xeon CPUs and 64Gb Ram, but the Dell R7910 has only single CPU and 16GB with No HDDs.

I thought is I can get the R7910 and upgrade it with the money I save over the over the R730.

What would people suggest and what are peoples others experiences?
