First time I ever got high was when my boss at the time gave me a huge ass brownie. I took it home, and my husband warned me to only eat part. I said “pfft, who eats half a brownie?” and demolished the whole thing.

Anyway, a bit later I had to warn him everything I was gonna say going forward was stupid, and then asked if I was rocking back and forth. Which I was! I did not sleep well that night lmao.

I never understood why people don’t just put less weed in brownies.
It’s always “eat one and be blazed out of your mind”.
Why not make them so you can eat 5?

Most of my friends here aren’t into edibles, and making small batches with too little just doesn’t seem worth it. So I’m ending up taking a few hundred mg at a time so the food I make doesn’t go bad before I can eat it.

When I’m in Amsterdam at an event, meeting up with friends there, edibles are sometimes handed out so much. Over Halloween I had around 1g of THC in edibles, that was fun but I don’t recommend it for most people.

A long, long time ago my friends baked a batch of brownies. One of them had managed to buy a batch of “really good weed” and dumped it all into the batter. I wasn’t present during the baking, but when I got offered one I could tell just by the smell that it was STRONG.

I ate just one small brownie while we watched Pulp Fiction. My friends ate 2-3 each. “There’s something wrong with these, I’m not feeling anything”, they said.

By the time the film ended my friends were giggling and squirming on the couch. Coherent speech was far beyond them. I was also pretty high, but with a little bit of focus still in full control of my abilities. I brewed a fresh pot of strong coffee, drank a few cups and kept watch for an hour or two. It took a lot of effort, but I got my friends to drink some water and I walked/dragged each to the toilet, so they wouldn’t soil the couch.

Then I made sure everyone was resting comfortably and walked home. It was a warm summer night and I remember vividly how awesome all the sounds and smells felt on that long walk.

Next morning I called to check up on them and everyone was feeling great, but not one of them had any idea what had happened after the 3rd act of the film.

My mum got some mushrooms at a local market, and made a nice spaghetti with it.

That night we all had really intense dreams

Before weed was legal and you had to make your own edibles, my buddy made a batch of cookies for our fantasy football draft. I don’t know how he made these things, but they tasted like pure weed. Barely edible because they were so strong.

At least that’s what I thought. Another buddy of mine somehow didn’t taste the weed at all and thought they were pretty weak. So when most of us could barely choke down one cookie, this dude ate three of them.

To this day, I’ve never seen someone get so high. He ended up trying to sleep in the middle of the road. It was like a full time job babysitting him so we didn’t kill himself.

Made some weed waffles a couple of weeks ago. I made four of them in total with the leftover vaporised weed from my vape. The waffles weren’t that big, so I assumed my fiancée and I would both need two to feel anything. She’s usually a little more cautious and ate one whereas I ate the other three in one sitting.

It didn’t kick as hard as I had expected, but I got some high out of it by midnight. When I fell asleep, I was still high, but it was a manageable level. Went to sleep and woke up at 5:30 for school and I was just so fucking zooted. I’ve never had that happen to me before - usually I’d be sober after I’ve slept. I was so high that I had to call in sick for school because I just wouldn’t have been able to function. Went back to sleep and slept it of eventually, but yea. These edibles were shit in the end

I mean… No. I can honestly say, even at the worst I’ve ever been… And holy shit have I been bad… I’ve never even felt queasy eating edibles.

Hah! I appreciate the offer, my friend, and 23 year old me would likely have jumped at the opportunity… But these days, psychonautical adventuring is likely well behind me. 😁

You eat too much and get ready to buckle up for your rollercoaster ride with Satan.

Personally I get horrible motion sickness, if I over do it. My equilibrium just fucks up and I feel like I’m in a rocket ship I can’t steer. Spent a few hours just trying to hold my vision straight, turning my knuckles white gripping onto a chair. Closing my eyes was so much worse. I don’t puke, but I wish I could.

Did this to myself more than I should. Why I cut out a lot of alcohol and drugs, I’m too much of a “let’s crank this shit up to 11 guy”. My old ass body can only handle a 1 or 2.

My dad once ate half of a 100mg brownie in the shape of a lollipop. He legitimately thought he was going to die. He was okay, but it was a terrifying experience for him. He sticks to gummies now, since it’s easier to control the portions.

    ITT: people without the enzyme.

TL;DR: You need the gene that makes the enzyme to metabolize the delta-9. Otherwise, edibles literally do nothing.

My wife is the same way. I thought she was bullshitting until the day we had a friend over. He’d just gotten his medical card and wanted to make edibles. We did a whole southern spread with neck bones, collard greens, and cornbread. The cornbread had a gram of live rosin in it. My friend and I ate one piece and were nearly comatose (I was high for a day and a half), she had 3 pieces and didn’t even get a buzz.

Apparently some people’s liver metabolize THC too quickly for edibles to have an effect. (I tried to find a real source for this but only got results from companies that sell stuff so take this with a grain of salt)
