Introducing the Mecha Comet
The Mecha Comet is a re-imagined portable computer that gives you the flexibility in hardware and software both, for your usecase. It all started with us wanting to build a small computer that we could easily program, deploy and manage remotely.
Once we entered this rabbit hole, we realised how customisable and versatile we could make this, bring the fun with computers back.
Our largest advantage is that we do everything ourselves - mechanicals, PCB design, software and supply chain. We are a full-time team of 15 and are supported by a number of agencies, contractors and contributors. This gives us a unique edge wherein we are in control of every part of the product and are able to craft your experience on every level.
c’est dingue ce machin, j’adore. Pourtant je suis même pas le public visé : je suis jamais arrivé à faire marcher Linux. Ignare en réseau, profane en terminal,… sagouin en selfhosting… pourtant cette petite briquette m’aguiche. Elle me rappelle mon vieux Zune
Et les modules sont tellement sexy !!!
Ya une prolongation pour la precommande du mecha je crois. Jusqu’au 3 mars. Yep j’aime bien les trucs comme ça. Surtout un vrai clavier :)
Oui le clavier amovible c’est tellement cool… et puis une GUI maison, c’est un argument… je pensais que ça serait une distro stock goût vanille mais non ils ont mis les petits plats dans les grands
Ils ont fork une librairie de compositeurs Wayland qui s’appelle Louvre 😆

Pour info, je me le suis commandé. Yaura bien le support de la 4g via une antenne interne.
On recommande la version 8gb de RAM pour etre comfort avec les apps bureau de Linux.
Ça a l’air sympa ça fait envie même si je ne sais pas trop en quoi ça me sera utile :)
Je l’utiliserai pour avoir un tel linux avec clavier. S’il me convient pas je pourrais en faire un petit vpn ou telecommande Home assistant + linux

On verra bien, je le recois en Septembre. Par contre si tu veux un tel Linux comme un smartphone, je pencherais du coté du liberux nexx.
Il sera cher mais il offre 3 kills switch et de bonne performance avec un large écran. L’ecran du mecha est petit pour lire le fediverse.
