THIS is one of the most remarkable breakthroughs in energy storage, particular for hydrogen. It’s the hydrogen paste from Fraunhofer institute.
Researchers are currently working intensively to find new ways of storing hydrogen. Ammonia and boron nitride, among other substances, play a role here, enabling hydrogen to be bound with up to 90 percent greater energy efficiency. But this paste I am talking about today, is next level.
We gonna find out exactly today what this solution looks like, how it works, AND what is this potential of this technology.
I already know a liquid that’s really dense in hydrogen: water.
Storing hydrogen isn’t the problem, it’s storing it in a convenient way that doesn’t cost energy to get the hydrogen back out.
This idea allows for relatively easy extraction of hydrogen. Extraction of hydrogen from water is extremely endothermic and would not constitute a real way of storing hydrogen.
