Massdispell is basically (especially in a bursting week) a requirement just like bloodlust and CR. The fact only priest have it, together with their Top-3 DPS and having Pi lead to a ridiculous amount of SPriests the higher the key level.

Some stats from raider.io:

M+20 and higher (timed)

  • 10.2% of all DPS are SP (#1 is FOTM retri pala with 12.3%)
  • 20.0% of all range DPS are SP

When bursting week:

  • 14.9% of all DPS are SP
  • 29.1% of all range DPS are SP

M+25 and higher (timed)

  • 25.9% of all DPS are SP
  • 48.3% of all range DPS are SP

When bursting week:

  • 29.5% of all DPS are SP
  • 52.8% of all range DPS are SP

I think granting a MD-like ability to the underrepresented classes (especially to those without BL and CR) would really help this situation.

But maybe I’m overreacting and its not that bad. What do you think?

Yeah idk if Blizz even understands what they want from class interaction and M+ affixes. They want class diversity in M+ groups, but yet they make mechanics and systems that funnel people to specific classes based on viable clearing requirements.

I think either they need to create better affixes that are not so limiting or do what you said and give every class an ability to deal with these clear requirements.

It gets stale really quick being funneled into specific group comps.

I don’t even play war but I feel like they could use some group utility, would be cool is they could take everyone’s debuffs instead of just dispelling, then maybe get dispelled by the healer. Would have s shorter CD than priest

Dispels/cleanses in general remain unnecessarily divided up.

Any cleanses should be able to handle poison/curse/magic/disease/etc. The classes should be built up around their unique strengths and not artificially weakened by a dated system.

I understand there are ‘lore’ reasons behind why only certain classes can dispel/cleanse certain things, but I think the player experience is first and foremost the most important. If it becomes hard to find groups due to these class limitations, maybe it’s time to lift some of these limits.
