I wonder if Squads have the option to not be ‘invaded’ by players choosing to matchmake in Solo vs Squads
I can’t imagine they will get the option or it would cause queue times to be too high for the solo vs squad option. I’m pretty disappointed that the new option was solo vs squad when I was really hoping it was gonna be a no free loadout matchmaking option.
It really would improve the game where more free loadout and low gear kits could be matched together and have more even fights and I don’t have to be worried about getting shot in the back by a dude with a level 1 stitcher while looting the matriarch.
I would also restrict free loadout to certain map rules. For example you cant load in major map condition with free kit or cant go to, let say, stella with free
An “Oops All Free” Stella with no bastion and like half the normal amount of shredders would be nice. Sometimes you just have a lust for blood and Stella is a nice way to blow off steam after getting ratted.
Would also take people running free loadout for PVP out of the normal queue.
What do mean “normal queue”
I just mean people loading up Stella Montis normally.
If there was a queueing option for “free loadouts only” then people who want to play pvp only can choose that and then the hyper aggressive PvP players with nothing to lose will be playing that rather than pushing the PvE players who have free loadouts only turned off.
The most problematic thing is not the free loadout, it’s the no augment or shield loadout. You risk nothing but you do get a safe pocket.
Honestly, I was never playing without any augment before because it seemed absurd that you can have a safe pocket even completely naked. But if you have a “free loadout” augment suddenly you don’t get any safe pockets.
If the free loadout is useful for you then crafting it yourself and going without an augment is even better. Having a safe pockets seems to me to be much more valuable than having a rattler and random items.
So basically the fact that you can get a safe pocket even without any augment makes it so people can get rewarded for not taking any risks at all. That’s how you get people with just a stitcher 1 and nothing else. They can definitely rat someone from time to time but are not risking anything of value.
