    I disagree. It’s critical for them to escalate right now in order to misdirect from their game plan. They see her as a useful tool. Once they provoke violent conflict, they’ll have the excuse they need to escalate further, cancel elections, etc…

    She is a useful means to their ends.

      Given how they just make up bullshit justifications for the violence they carry out, it’s increasingly obvious that they don’t need to be given a reason to do these horrible things.

    I live really close to Minneapolis. My wife and I have friends who live there. It could have been anyone. It’ll probably happen more. I’m so shaken over this and it’s all I’ve been thinking about since it happened. Minnesota was supposed to be one of the “safe” states.

    I don’t have anything meaningful to say about the article other than everything is so messed up.

      I was at the vigil last night and it was huge! The news reported “100s of people,” but it was easily more than 1,000 at any given time. And people were constantly coming and going. (I have experience counting large groups of people for events)

      We will not stand for this.

      I’m in a signal group for Rapid Response following ICE vehicles and guarding daycares and schools. It’s terrifying, but it’s literally the least I can do while I have to continue doing work, because I guess fascism happens during the work week too.

        I’m glad to hear it. Thanks for sharing your perspective. When there’s so much bullshit and misinformation about, I find it grounding to hear perspectives like yours. The insight of one person can only provide a small slice of the true reality of things, but what feels significant to me is that there is a kernel of immutable truth in perspectives such as yours.

        I don’t know if that makes sense. I’m having a weird day, in which I seem to be more prone to waxing poetic about stuff than usual

      It’s the same reason why they went hard on California a few months ago.
