    Let’s be realistic , if Trump decides on this, it will be hard to counter. A complete boycott on all US goods would be the best answer.

      He’s loving the defeatism and everyone talking about how strong he is.

      All I’ll say is we’ve seen what acquiescence and appeasement do, letting that happen to Greenland would be a mistake I’d rather have WW3 over than abide.

        I’m all about our government getting their comeuppance, but WW3 will be nuclear and no one will win a nuclear war… Everything, life itself, will be over from that.

            I’d agree with you if everybody acted more or less rationally. But with Trump you never know. All it takes is the right TV segment egging him on and anything can happen.

      All it would take would be for France to say that any nato territory is protected under the French Nuclear umbrella. Then let Trump know that they can park a sub off the coast of Florida to nuke his ass if he invades their ally.

    If Trump invades Greenland and NATO fails to act he’ll continue the invasion on the next nearest NATO country in line he’s already threatened… Canada.

    The EU can’t even protect Ukraine against the second strongest army in Ukraine! There’s absolutely no way it can defend Greenland. Orban and most right-wing politicians licking Trump’s boots will throw a wrench into any attempt to intervene. But that’s not even the biggest issue. The EU didn’t invest anywhere near enough in defence since the invasion of Ukraine in 2014.

    Militarily, no. If the US decides to take it by force, it’s over. That’s why Denmark needs to put men on the ground to defend the Greenlandic instruments of government, forcing the US to actually open fire on their own allies if they wish to take over. That might be enough to stop it from happening.

    Word has it that the US military personell working with NATO stuff in Europe are very much ashamed of Trump and his actions, doing their best to not let him destroy decades of diplomatic work. There is hope!
