Men’s Warehouse Guy: Trump just handed the Democrats an airtight impeachment case…

…but they won’t prosecute him for this, I guarantee it.

    Blame the republicans.

Dems introduced articles of impeachment in April and once again in December. But the Dems don’t have the majority in the congress, and they were tabled by the GOP.

Please recall Democrats had FOUR YEARS to prepare for another Trump campaign, including two years of majority.

The filibuster/cloture can be ignored by them at will with a simple majority vote.

The senate doesn’t “need” a two thirds majority. It makes bills “exceptions” to that majority vote with regularity, hundreds of exceptions; it’s a senate rule and not law.

The senate could have impeached and convicted him and barred him from holding office for his entire life. That’s their job. they are the only ones who can do it.

Yeah really, they’ve successfully impeached him twice but without more control in Congress, they can’t remove him.

Hate it? I know. But all we can do is go donate to or work for a congressional candidate’s campaign somewhere that could help tip the scales.

The Democrats aren’t in power in the House and literally CAN’T impeach him even if they wanted to.

It’s down to Mike Johnson and the Republicans to run an impeachment.

Then, even if they did, it’s off to the Senate which is ALSO controlled by Republicans, in order to convict and remove him.

The Democrats aren’t in any way, shape, or form in control of the process at this point.

Also. Even if hypothetically they get the house and Senate in 2027, they can impeach but not remove him because there’s no way they’ll have a Senate supermajority…

they can’t even hold the vote. all they can do is file the articles. as you say, it’s up to mike johnson and whoever has his balls in their purse (and probably his and his son’s porn proclivities, i’m betting Putain)

Dems won’t be able to impeach him. Stop blaming them for this shit and blame who’s responsible for it.

And on the record, the dems have already tried to impeach him several times now. It’s keeps getting struck down.

    Learn politics.

Last week there was an anti-trans discriminatory bill that passed the house with 100% Republican support and 1% Democratic support courtesy of like 2 Texan democrats.

      Headline? “DEMOCRATS HATE TRANS PEOPLE”

Comments? “This is why I don’t vote, blah blah”

It’s genuinely exhausting interacting with these dumb ass people

Yeah. That perfectly summarizes the lack of nuance in so many people here. They are so quick to outrage themselves about everything- that they don’t take the time to even understand what it even is they’re being outraged about.

        It’s just-

Wait, am I reading that democrats voted on this?! Well then It must have been ALL THE DEMOCRATS!!!

And then we end up with hundreds of comment threads of theses clowns crawling over once another to see who can make the most anger-inducing claim.

Ifs like they want to be angry! And then you try and inject a little grey-area to their black and white ideology, they lose their shit.

        It’s fucking exhausting.

Fuck man, Trump was impeached twice. Is it ‘third time’s the charm’? Or have you forgotten what removal takes? Or, for that matter, what the House currently looks like?

I’d like to see Dems introduce impeachment proceedings over this, but even if they do, it’s not going to make much of a difference, other than changing the beat of some online drums from “DEMS SHOULD DO IT EVEN IF IT’S JUST SENDING A MESSAGE OF DISAPPROVAL” to “I CAN’T BELIEVE DEMS ARE WASTING TIME ON SOMETHING THEY KNOW WON’T MAKE A DIFFERENCE”

Dems have already done it twice in his second term, but no one remembers because Trump’s weekly crazy shit is crazier than impeachment, and because the press doesn’t spent time covering something that the GOP can insta-block because they’re the majority.

Ah, well you don’t have to worry about them wasting time on this, because they very definitely do not want to close the door on doing extra-legal imperial management The Right Way when next they hold the presidency.

              it’s a duopoly, mate

Dems are perfectly happy to keep things like the NSA and ICE funded, then act shocked when Republicans use these tools. They’re all part of the problem.

Even if they prosecute him, Trump has repeatedly proven to be above the law… nothing will come of it.

Legal justice is not a realistic outcome. Our options are vigilante justice, or no justice. So far we’ve chosen the latter.

the people who have been prepping for overthrowing the government were nutjobs freaking out that a coherent black man was elected. they are the same people who would be fragging us in an organized resistance in this government. some types of segregation are okay.

He’s not above the law, they just want to prosecute him for some unimportant, tacky procedural misstep. Neither party wants the precedent of presidents facing consequences.

You mean he defied the consitution’s emoluments clause - he very much did NOT defy emoluments.

The President shall, at stated Times, receive for his Services, a Compensation, which shall neither be increased nor diminished during the Period for which he shall have been elected, and he shall not receive within that Period any other Emolument from the United States, or any of them

If politics worked for the citizens there would be no issues at all but it has become a useless “stinkhole” and any fruitful gains we have fought for over the years have been almost instantly lost. One step forward, 5 steps back. Not a dem or rep issue but money/power/broken system global issue.
