This is one fucking dark book. Very gothic, in the tradition of the Bertha Mason character of Jane Eyre or stories like The Yellow Wallpaper but with added grossness (but never gratuitously). This one led to our very first 10/10 scores. Even if you don’t listen to the podcast episode, get this book, its brilliant.
