Update:

" Preliminarily, the large patrol ship “Pavlo Derzhavin” of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation blew up on a Russian mine during the external raid of Sevastopol", - Odesa Speaker OVA Bratchuk

Original:

💥 Sources from the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea report that a few hours ago in the roadstead of Sevastopol, for an as yet unknown reason, the large patrol ship Pavel Derzhavin was blown up.

It is not yet clear what happened. Either a missile strike, or an air or sea drone strike, or just someone having a bad smoke.

What is known about the “victim”:

▪️The patrol ship “Pavel Derzhavin” was laid down on 02/18/2016 at the Zelenodolsk Shipyard named after. A.M. Gorky (serial number 163). Further construction was carried out at the Zaliv shipyard in Kerch.

▪️Launched 02/21/2019

▪️27.11.2020 in Novorossiysk, a ceremony of raising the naval flag took place on the ship, and the patrol ship “Pavel Derzhavin” was accepted into the Black Sea Fleet.

▪️During the full-scale war in Ukraine in June 2022, the ship “strengthened its armament with the Tor-M2KM anti-aircraft missile system installed on the runway.”

In Russia there are only four such corvettes on the water - “Vasily Bykov”, “Dmitry Rogachev”, “Pavel Derzhavin” and “Sergey Kotov”.

Say hello to “Moscow”, “Derzhavin”!

In general, only submarines and aircraft carriers are nuclear powered, plus a small number of Soviet ice breakers, and even fewer research vessels, now decommissioned. In case of Russia even their aircraft carrier is fossil-fuel powered, and generally just a joke.
